At the feet of Jivdani

The call

I see myself climbing the steps. My destination? The mountain peak, where goddess mother resides. Where will the son go? He will race towards the bossom of his mother...So do I..I see myself climbing the steps!

Ah! That was a dream I saw..I dont know why but my heart said that it wasn't just another dream, it was a call from a person who was waiting for me with outstretched hands..MOTHER..

The dots connected

The jivdani temple is located atop a hill in the Satpura range of Virar. It is the temple I have seen from the window of the local train but never have I visited the place. After the dream....I made up my mind! It was decided..I shall visit the the jivdani temple in the coming days anyhow.

The journey

A few days later i found myself sitting in a local train heading towards Virar. After getting down at Virar I spent a few bucks to buy a Limca and then took a rickshaw for jivdani temple.
When I got down from the rickshaw I was awestruck as I saw the mystique of the mountain on the peak of which the temple was located.

I remember reading about the beauties of nature in my literature textbooks in school but there were few instances when I reall felt 'nature',and this was one of them..The magnificence made me its part , hugged me and made me settle somewhere in its heart. Well, I was emotional.
The Jivdani mandir is located 1500 ft from the sea level and has 1120 steps. So,to reach her one had to climb the steps. I begun my slow climb with the limca in my hand. Very soon did I understand that Limca did quench my thirst but the "mantras" on my lips quenched the thirst of a soul which longed for life. Step by step I moved slowly. The recitation of the "kaali tandav" was the most powerful , an ecstatic experience I am unable to describe.
My parents have always taught me that battles require more of a mental and spiritual strength than physical strength. Climbing 1120 steps wasnt a battle but yes it was a path through which I had to realise and reach god.
And I climbed."Devotion" is a blend of many emotions I understood, consists of love, faith, attachment, hope and a pinch of enigma. That moment in that spirit I could write a whole book on "devotion".

The peak

Finally I was there.I had reached the peak. From there the view was jaw-dropping.
I walked towards the temple and there she was.. PRISTINE POWERFUL PEACEFUL wrapped in the glory of a fire that defined her love for the devotees Ma Jivdani!
I bowed before her. What to pray? Well..I just "told my mother that all I needed was the TRUTH and SHE was the truth for me".
They dont allow you to take photos of the main statue. I did manage to take a photo of mother Kaali's statue which was situated at a distance.

I recited
 "bhramha shambhujanaudheja
Shaba Madhya Prasanna tithe
Pretakoti samayukte
Kalikayai namostute"
SALUTATIONS TO MOTHER KAALI

Moksha:the liberation

As I was returning in the local train I saw little girls in their playful moods.I was lost somewhere. In their smiles somehow I did see goddess mother smiling. Is god so simple? I wondered..
I FELT JIVDANI
SINCE I HAD ALREADY STARTED RESIDING WITHIN HER
