The diyas of the Guru

Amma would tell little Vivek stories of  shri Ramkrishna Paramhans and how he was so devoted to Ma Kali.Little vivek would dream of going to the dakshineshwar temple one day, he would urge his amma to take him there but Amma was the only earning member at home and it was tough for her to take a leave and visit Kolkata. Vivek's curiosity increased to such an extent that now he would not listen to any reasons of amma, he was firm on his decision , he had to make it to the temple. The ways of God's working are different, Amma's boss announced a three day holiday at the office since his sister was to get maried. Amma was delighted;and vivek, vivek's happiness knew no bounds.

As both amma and vivek looked  outside the train window, they could see the reflection of Ma Kali and shri Ramkrishna in the sky. As if to tell them their fragrance had spread all aroud in the emotion of devotion. Both looked at each other and smiled. The train was getting close to the destination and the focus of holy internal rivers was approaching the ocean of the goddess. It seemed that Vivek wasnt waiting from just a few years but a million years to bow before Kali of Dakshineshwar. Journeys of a million years filtering negativity, darkness, attachments, anger, jealousy and all the worldly things. Reaching finally the resonance of god's very own music.

Within every drop of the Hooghlly river their existed a universe of liberated souls who visited the Dakshineshwar temple on its eastern bank. Vivek held Amma's hand tight as they walked though the crowd  towards the temple. The grip of the hands was as strong as the bond between shri Ramkrishna and Kali, filled with strength to reach the ultimate amidst storms. They could see the temple, they also saw a middle aged man on the door, he had grey beard and a sanctified shimmer in his eyes.He appeared to be looking at them and constantly smiling while they were totally clueless and ignored him. Amma and Vivek touched the floor of the entrance and stepped in, stepped inside themselves.

Moist eyes and purified souls, throat tightness and clear voices, light bodies and strong connection. They closed their eyes before Ma Kali's idol and prayed her to accept them at her feet. Amidst the prayers Amma checked her bag and something hit her, she had forgot the diyas(oil lamps), she tapped Vivek and said him about it. This very moment Amma felt a wave of energy of peacefull bliss hit her shoulder, she turned back and foud that it was someones hand, the same person with grey beard and divine glimmering eyes at the door. In his other hand were two lit diyas, the reflection of the flames of which reflected in his two eyes, to open the third eye of Amma and Vivek.

Realisation bloomed and they understood who he was, he was Shri Ramkrishna Paramhans. Both bend down to let their heads touch their Guru's feet. When they rised up Shri Ramkrishna handed them one diya each and said,"This jyoti(light) was, is and will always be there. OM AIM HRIM KLIM CHAMUNDAYE VICHAE". He had attained samadhi(superconsciousness) and left his body in 1886 but he was always there, from a million years till eternity. Vivek and Amma kept the diyas at Ma Kali's feet with full Samarpan(surrender) bhaav. Vivek bend down and touched Amma's feet as he did so Amma smiled and blessed him, Ma Kali's idol took life and smiled for a fraction of second and blessed them, seeing which Amma closed her eyes.

They turned and could not find Shri Ramkrishna, but they were not worried for they found him within themselves. As they travelled back home talking and meditating on  the subtle nature of Shri Ramkrishna and the shakti(power) of Ma Kali, miles away in the temple of Dakshineshwar somewhere the devotee worshipped his mother constantly and his mother enlightened him constantly.
